The Clovehitch Killer & Welcome to Mercy hit Blu-ray this March

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

I'm always on the lookout for news regarding either IFC Midnight and/or Scream Factory, so it's always a joy when the two great tastes come together. Case in point, the powers that be over at Scream Factory just announced that they will be bringing two IFC Midnight titles to Blu-ray next year. The two IFC Midnight titles are director Duncan Skiles' THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER starring Charlie Plummer and Dylan McDermott, and director Tommy Bertelsen's WELCOME TO MERCY starring Lily Newmark and Kristen Ruhlin.

Both titles are set to be hitting shelves this March, and you can check out their cover art above and there trailers and rundowns below.

THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER rundown:

Tyler Burnside (Charlie Plummer, All The Money In The World) is a Boy Scout, a volunteer at his local church, and the dutiful son of an upstanding, community leader dad (Dylan McDermott, American Horror Story). Only one thing troubles the quiet Kentucky town he lives in: the unsolved murders — in which ten women were brutally tortured and killed by a psychopath known as Clovehitch — that rocked the community more than a decade ago. When Tyler discovers a cache of disturbing images in his father's possession, he begins to suspect that the man he trusts most in the world may be Clovehitch … and that his deadly rampage may not be over. With unrelenting tension, director Duncan Skiles crafts a picture-perfect vision of the American family … and then rips it to shreds.

WELCOME TO MERCY rundown:

A young woman struggles against the unholy forces that possess her in this terrifying occult thriller. After being stricken with stigmata, single mother Madaline (Kristen Ruhlin) is sent to a remote convent where nothing is what it seems and her friend August is seemingly the only person she can trust. Together, they must confront the demons inside Madaline before she becomes the Anitchrist!

Again, both of these titles will be landing on Blu-ray via Scream Factory on March 5th. I had the chance to review THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER earlier this month and found it to be a killer new edition to the serial slasher subgenre. More emotional and brutal than you might expect. I highly suggest checking it out. I still haven't seen WELCOME TO MERCY myself, but Jake Dee did and you can check out his review HERE.
