The Crow comic creator James O'Barr will consult on the reboot starring Luke Evans

After several false starts, the remake of THE CROW looks like it is finally happening, for better or for worse. Now starring Luke Evans and to be directed by F. Javier Gutierrez, producer Relativity Media is pushing for fans to accept a new take on the comic book. To ensure the film will not be made in vain, Relativity is bringing James O’Barr, creator of THE CROW comics, on board as a consultant on the new film.

O’Barr and Gutierrez will both be present at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con to discuss the new version of THE CROW with fans. After the original film gained notoriety due to the death of star Brandon Lee, there has not been much success with new versions of the character. Actors Vincent Perez, Edward Furlong, Eric Mabius, and Mark Dacascos have all tried to play other versions of THE CROW on film and television to much less acclaim.
