The Dark coming to DVD this January via Dark Sky Films

Dark Sky Films had a good year in 2018. They released not only Adam Green's surprise fourth entry in the HATCHET series with VICTOR CROWLEY but they also got their hands on writer-director Justin P. Lange's THE DARK (pre-order HERE) starring Nadia Alexander and Toby Nichols. The film ended up being Dark Sky Films biggest hit of the year and today we have word that the movie is heading to DVD next month. You can check out the trailer and the DVD cover art below and then let us know if you plan to snag a copy this January.

The film takes place:

On the outskirts of a small town lies Devil's Den, a mysterious tract of woods where many have entered but no one has ever left. The local legend is that the spirit of a girl who was horrifically murdered there haunts – and hunts in – this dense forest, brutally slaying anyone who dares to step into her terrain. When a young man with a dark past crosses her path, a series of events are set in motion that may lead to redemption for two tragically tortured souls.

Part gothic fairytale and part chilling horror, Lange's debut feature balance rich imagery with a brutal and bloody story of unlikely kindred spirits who must defend themselves against the villainous powers of the 'normal' world. Personally, I don't think the world needs another horror project that goes by the name THE DARK. But generic title aside, I have heard nothing but good things about this film since it's been making the festival rounds. It landed on my must-see list a while back so I know I will be giving it a peek once it hits DVD this January.

THE DARK is written and directed by Justin P. Lange (THE SINNER, SEVEN SECONDS) and stars Nadia Alexander (THE COUNTERFEITERS), Toby Nichols (IRON FIST, TRUMBO), and Karl Markovics. The film was produced by Danny Krausz, Andrew Nicholas McCann Smith, Laura Perlmutter, and Kurt Stocker. THE DARK comes to DVD via Dark Sky Films on January 15, 2019.
