It was only a couple of weeks ago that I slapped up a new poster for THE EXPERIMENT while wondering when the hell we’d finally get to see the thing, if ever. I guess my prayers have been answered, because according to Movieweb, the film has finally locked up a release date.

The bad news, depending on your point of view, is that it’s heading straight to DVD/Blu-ray. The good news is that it’s not far away at all – SEPTEMBER 21st to be exact. Unfortunately there are no specs available just yet, but I’d expect that to change very soon. All we know for sure is that it has a running time of 96 minutes and is rated R for strong violence, language, some sexual content and nudity. (I hope that’s not Forest Whitaker nudity…)

The shocking psychological thriller unfolds when 24 men are chosen to participate in the roles of guards and prisoners in a study designed to evaluate the affects of power and control. Values are tested and lines are crossed when seemingly normal participants are pushed to the breaking point as the experiment spirals out of control.

Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, Clifton Collins Jr., Maggie Grace (pictured below), Fisher Stevens and Cam Gigandet star in the flick – keep your eyes peeled for a trailer, which shouldn’t be far off.
