The Fast & Furious continues on June 25th at Universal Studios Hollywood

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The FAST & FURIOUS franchise has risen from guilty pleasure to box-office monster over the years like it was nobody's business. It was with little surprise that Vin Diesel announced that an 8th film would be hitting theaters on June 14, 2017, but you won't have to wait that long to get a new FAST & FURIOUS experience. Universal Pictures have decided to take their adrenaline-fueled formula and apply it to a brand new ride at their Hollywood location (for starters) that opens June 25th. What's to follow looks like an interesting mix of live-action and CGI, and if you're familiar with the strides they've made with their Harry Potter rides in Orlando, Florida, you might have an idea of the level of detail to expect.

Further details haven't been released regarding the type of ride, except that it will take place at the tail-end of the backlot tour and involve a simulated experience of underground street racing with perceived speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour. Judging from Luke Evans' involvement, I'm guessing guests will be in for more than just a simple street race. The latest movies have proven to be a lot of fun, so I'm sure the ride will please fans of the franchise. Ya know, at least until we get an actual MarioKart racer in there…
