ZOOLANDER 2 opens next Friday, and I don’t think anyone unfamiliar with the first will be pulled into the sequel. With that said, here’s what I’d like to refer to as the Hail Mary trailer. It’s the final trailer and you can bet Paramount Pictures is gonna throw everything at ya. We’re talking callbacks to the original, dance music, parts that don’t make a lot of sense out of context, and celebrity faces! Alright, who’s with me?!?
Sequels to classic comedies haven’t had the best track record, which is why I’m going to walk into ZOOLANDER 2 with zero expectations. That aside, I do love these characters and I’m hoping that, unlike most sequels, this movie won’t feel like it’s trying too hard to appease fans of the first. At any rate, between this and DEADPOOL, it looks like we may have some real entertainment this Valentine’s Day!
