Plot points are sparse when it comes to J.J. Abrams' upcoming STAR WARS film, even in the trailers. The first TV spot has arrived and while it doesn't showcase much in the way of new footage, we do get an idea of the sizable army the First Order has. The box containing the new Stormtrooper action figure that premiered at this year's San Diego Comic Con gave us some insight into The First Order, stating that "Stormtrooper legions were scattered in the aftermath of the Empire’s fall. Now, the rise of the First Order ushers in the next chapter in the Stormtrooper’s legacy as a new era of ruthless brutality begins." See for yourself in the preview below!

I know there are a lot of STAR WARS fans who were disappointed that the new films wouldn't be following the novels that detailed a post-RETURN OF THE JEDI future, but Abrams and crew look like they've put together an equally compelling story. One thing sorely missing in the prequels was a real sense of danger for our heroes, and it's great to see that put back into the mix. 4 months from now, we'll see if Abrams can pull off what Lucas couldn't.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS opens on December 18, 2015.
