The Girl Who Got Away trailer, poster promote August serial killer thriller

Last Updated on August 10, 2021

Quiver Distribution will be giving writer/director Michael Morrissey's horror thriller The Girl Who Got Away a VOD and digital release on August 20th, and with just over three weeks to go until that release we've gotten our hands on a trailer for the film, which can be seen in the embed above, as well as a poster that you can check out below.

Starring Lexi Johnson (Fear the Walking Dead), Chukwudi Iwuji (John Wick: Chapter 2), Geoffrey Cantor (Daredevil), Kaye Tuckerman (Scenes from a Breakup), Willow McCarthy (Estella Scrooge: A Christmas Carol with a Twist), Ned Van Zandt (The Blacklist), Audrey Grace Marshall (The Flight Attendant), and Anni Krueger (Werewolves Within), the film has the following synopsis:

Masena, New York. It’s 1998, and a decade of terror comes to a close with the capture of Elizabeth Caulfield, a serial killer who abducted and murdered the young girls she pretended were her own. All but one. Christina Bowden lives a lonely and unassuming existence until Caulfield escapes from prison. Under new investigation, the stories of Christina’s past begin to unravel. There’s good and evil in everyone, but as the lies are unearthed, Christina needs to choose a side before the darkness of her secrets swallows her whole.

Morrissey produced The Girl Who Got Away with John Scaccia and Heidi Scheuermann.

Judging by the trailer, The Girl Who Got Away looks like it could be a decent thriller. I only know Lexi Johnson as the first zombie seen in Fear the Walking Dead and a very brief appearance in The Nice Guys, so I am interested in seeing how she does as the lead in a genre project.
