The Guest’s Dan Stevens to pursue Anne Hathaway in Colossal

Nacho Vigalondo's COLOSSAL is currently in production in Vancouver, crushing Toho's lawsuit like Tokyo in the process. OK, there has been a slight location change, but everything is moving ahead normally. In fact, the cast has grown even stronger with the addition of THE GUEST's Dan Stevens as an ex-boyfriend of Anne Hathaway's Grace who is now fighting to win her back.

He joins Hathaway, Jason Sudeikis (in an unknown role), love interest Austin Stowell, and Tim Blake Nelson, who plays "Garth, who has a drug problem that he doesn’t do a particularly good job of hiding."

COLOSSAL follows a woman who moves back to her hometown after losing her job and boyfriend in New York, only to discover that she is somehow strangely connected to a giant creature that has materialized over Seoul and is wreaking havoc on the city.

It's very pleasing to see Stevens diversifying his work after his turn in Wingard's epic action pic and his much meeker role in Downton Abbey. Comparisons to Godzilla aside, COLOSSAL has a cast with some major star-power and Stevens' presence might be the next step in launching him into the A-list, which is a pedestal he richly deserves.

He can be seen next as the Beast in 2017's live action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST with Emma Watson. OK, well that movie has no reason to exist, but that cast is surreal. Check for COLOSSAL in 2016!
