Quick, but important news here.
According to Deadline, THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN has been pushed back from the initial June 18, 2014 date to December 17, 2014. Yay! Christmas present!
I find it sort of fitting that THE HOBBIT: DESOLATION OF SMAUG and THERE AND BACK again will both be released in December. Obviously not a Christmas movie, but something about them releasing in Winter is kind of nice. I have some friends that actually rotate LOTR in with the rest of their month of December essential viewings. Plus, I think that if any movie is going to get me out so close to the holidays, it’s going to have to involve Hobbits, Gandalf and that sexy Thorin Oakenshield.
Moving it back also gives the Peter Jackson a decent cushion of time to get everything how he wants it. I really enjoyed AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, although I was not a fan of the 48 fps. I know, I know, I’m not the only one, but I don’t think it ruined my experience.
Excited to see THE HOBBIT: DESOLATION OF SMAUG when it hits theaters on December 13, 2013.
