The Innkeepers stars ready themselves for some Cheap Thrills

Once again, I have failed you all. I hereby relinquish my credentials as a horrorologist by attesting to the fact that I have yet to see Ti West’s THE INNKEEPERS. I’ve heard nothing but great things, especially regarding the film’s leads, Pat Healy and Sara Paxton. This makes it all the more awkward for me to report that the duo are reuniting for yet another independent chiller, CHEAP THRILLS.

Based on a script by DEADGIRL writers Trent Haaga and David Chirchirillo, CHEAP THRILLS is the story of a new father facing eviction who is reunited with a high school friend when a wealthy couple challenges them to the ultimate game of dare, testing the limits of physical pain and morality in exchange for cash.”

Comedian David Koechner, Ethan Embry, and Amanda Fuller have also signed on for CHEAP THRILLS. Genre writer E.L. Katz (HOME SICK, AUTOPSY) will mark the film as his directorial debut. Snowfort Pictures and New Artist’s Alliance are producing and shooting begins this week. Between the two production companies are such impressive genre credits as MILO, THE AGGRESSION SCALE, and A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE, so I’d say we’re in good hands.

With an ingeniously depraved premise and great cast, I’d say CHEAP THRILLS is a darkly comedic horror flick to be on the lookout for. Then again, I said the same thing about THE INNKEEPERS only to find myself in this situation. Endeavoring to learn from my mistakes, I hereby pledge that I’m down for some CHEAP THRILLS. Are you?
