The international trailer for In the Heart of the Sea showcases the action

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

When the first trailer debuted for Ron Howard‘s IN THE HEART OF THE SEA, it arrived with a fairly formulaic presentation. We saw the crew of the Essex, including stars Chris Hemsworth and Cillian Murphy, saying goodbye to their families and beginning a long journey that would end in tragedy. The trailer paid special attention to the GODZILLA-like tease of the whale that would shipwreck the crew. This new international trailer jumps right into the action and pulls no punches.

Skipping the introduction to the characters, this trailer is all about the carnage of this whale seemingly hunting down these humans and picking them off. If you are familiar with the book the film is based on or the story of the crew, you know there is more to this film than just the whale attacks and the end of this preview begins to hint at that as well.

Audiences are in for one heck of a cinematic suckerpunch if they go into IN THE HEART OF THE SEA cold and it looks like Ron Howard is returning to form after several smaller scale films. Between BLACKHAT, IN THE HEART OF THE SEA, and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, Chris Hemsworth is going to have one heck of a year.

IN THE HEART OF THE SEA opens on March 13, 2015.
