Pedro Pascal has become one of the most sought after actors working in the business today. The Mandalorian star, in what some are calling one of the biggest TV castings of the year, has been chosen to headline The Last Of Us. The HBO series is an adaptation of the Sony Playstation franchise and comes from Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.

Pascal is set to play Joel, a character tormented by past trauma and failure that must trek across a pandemic-ravaged America, all while protecting a girl who represents the last hope on humanity. It was announced yesterday that Games Of Thrones' Bella Ramsey landed the role of Ellie, the young girl that Joel is desperate to protect. The Last Of Us takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed and finds Joel (Pascal) hired to smuggle Ellie (Ramsey), a 14-year old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone.

The role brings Pascal back to HBO as he became a household name playing Oberyn Martell on Game Of Thrones. The actor currently stars on The Mandalorian and he will continue on the Star Wars series because he's used very sparingly on the show due to the nature of the character. HBO has him in first position for The Last Of Us and it appears that Pascal was up for some big offers from top premium networks and streaming because he recently became available for a new series. That new series is now The Last Of Us.

Are YOU excited that Pedro Pascal will be playing Joel on The Last Of Us?
