Deadline reports that HBO's upcoming epic, post-apocalyptic TV series The Last of Us – based on the popular video game series – has just added two new directors to its roster: Jasmila Zbanic (Quo vadis, Aida) and Jasmila Zbanic (Border)! They join the previously announced Kantemir Balagov (Beanpole), who's directing the pilot.

Here's the official synopsis:

Based on the critically acclaimed video game The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Meanwhile, no official release date as of yet, but we'll keep you posted!

So what do you guys think? Fans of the game? If so, looking forward to the HBO adaptation? Either way, sound off below!
