It was just last month when it was announced that Chiwetel Ejiofor would be starring in The Man Who Fell to Earth, a new TV adaptation of the novel by Walter Tevis and Nicholas Roeg's 1976 film that starred David Bowie, and it seems that Naomie Harris and Jimmi Simpson will be joining him.

The Man Who Fell to Earth will follow a new alien character to be played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future. Naomie Harris will be playing Justin Falls, a brilliant scientist and engineer who must conquer her own demons in the race to save two worlds, while Jimmi Simpson will play Spencer Clay, a CIA agent whose obsession with the alien's true identity drives him to the edge of madness. Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet are writing and executive producing the series, as well as serving as showrunners alongside fellow executive producer John Hlavin. "To be working with an actor of Naomie’s caliber is an absolute dream," said Kurtzman, Lumet and Hlavin in a statement. "Her strength, her complexity and her bold artistic choices are an inspiration. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on board." Kurtzman will also direct multiple episodes of the series, which recently moved from Paramount+ to Showtime. Production is expected to kick off in London this spring with The Man Who Fell to Earth slated to premiere on Showtime in 2022.

Naomie Harris will next be seen in Venom: Let There Be Carnage on September 17, 2021, as well as No Time to Die on October 8, 2021. As for Jimmi Simpson, he was most recently seen in Silk Road and Breaking News in Yuba Country.
