Ridley Scott's next picture, THE MARTIAN (based on the Andy Weir novel of the same name), follows American astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) as he becomes stranded alone on Mars and must improvise in order to survive. We haven't seen too much on the film considering it hits this November, but I'm guessing Fox is playing this one close to their chest for now, seeing as how there's a slew of big-budget flicks that are hitting between now and its release date in November. In any event, the author was more than happy to post this picture, giving us our first glimpse at Matt Damon in uniform.

Matt Damon's assistant, Colin (a hardcore Seattle Seahawks fan) lost their Super Bowl bet. So now he has to wear a Patriots jersey for a year.

And hey, look at that name patch on Matt's shirt! 🙂

Given that this flick's script was penned by Drew Goddard (THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, CLOVERFIELD) and the film also stars, Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig, and Jeff Daniels, this looks to be a must-see in theaters. I've been told by those who've read the book that this isn't going to be your standard dark, Ridly Scott sci-fi flick, so that only gets me even more pumped! It's time someone's actually delievered a GOOD film about Mars! TOTAL RECALL has stood alone long enough!

THE MARTIAN will hit theaters on November 25, 2015.
