The New Mutants character promo offers another look at Illyana Rasputin

JoBloJoBlo

Another character promo video for Josh Boone's THE NEW MUTANTS has been unleashed upon the internet, with the latest tease focusing on Anya Taylor-Joy's Illyana Rasputin a.k.a. Magik. In the brief video clip, we see the chaos magic-wielding mutant getting rather artful on the walls of her asylum cell. As Magik scribbles what could be an incantation for a portal to Hell itself, we spy Illyana rocking her iconic dual-bun hairdo made popular by the pages of Marvel-brand comics. Furthermore, now that we've gotten character promos for nearly all of THE NEW MUTANTS, I wouldn't be surprised if a more plot-driven trailer is set to arrive sooner rather than later.

You can check the new promo out for yourself below:

For THE NEW MUTANTS, five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves. The upcoming film is set to be the first chapter of an X-Men horror-related trilogy, with Boone and his crew hoping to offer Marvel fans something quite different than what they've come to expect from the studio's pantheon of mutant-related movies.

If you're looking to read up on THE NEW MUTANTS, I highly recommend checking out writer Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod's New Mutants, as well as Uncanny X-Men (2006) from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Chris Bachalo.

THE NEW MUTANTS will arrive in theaters on April 13, 2018
