If you've had trouble keeping up with the timeline of the Conjuring Universe, a featurette promoting the upcoming THE CONJURING 2 spin-off / prequel THE NUN is here to help you out. In the featurette, which is embedded below, there is a timeline that shows the years when THE NUN, ANNABELLE: CREATION, ANNABELLE, THE CONJURING, and THE CONJURING 2 all took place.

The featurette also has producer/CONJURING director James Wan, ANNABELLE: CREATION director David F. Sandberg, and THE NUN director Corin Hardy discussing the shared universe they have crafted together. Then, of course, the focus is turned to THE NUN, because that's the one they need to promote right now.

Written by ANNABELLE and ANNABELLE: CREATION's Gary Dauberman, THE NUN tells the following story:

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate.  Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret.  Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2,” as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

The film stars Taissa Farmiga, Demian Bichir, Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope, and Ingrid Bisu, with Bonnie Aarons as the titular demonic entity that was introduced in THE CONJURING 2.

I think it's pretty cool that Wan and his collaborators have been able to turn this idea into such an expansive series (and it's set to continue expanding in future years), and I have enjoyed most of the installments up to this point. I'm looking forward to watching THE NUN next month.
