The Sopranos is getting its first-ever 4K Ultra HD box set with new bonus features and sweet collector’s packaging

It’s been more than 20 years since The Sopranos debuted on HBO, changing the television crime drama genre forever. As a New York resident at the time, The Sopranos was everywhere. If you left the house, you could catch Tony Soprano’s face on billboards, bus stops, and train station adverts. What a time to be alive, and soon, you can relive the glory days with the first-ever release of a 4K Ultra HD box set of The Sopranos with new bonus features and collector’s packaging.

What comes in the new Sopranos box set?

The collector’s set is a limited-edition product, so get your ducks in a row to own this sweet collection. The set hits shelves on December 8, and pre-orders are live now. The set includes all 86 episodes of David Chase‘s hit show. All the episodes are remastered in 4K Ultra HD and come in collectible, lay-flat hardcover packaging with full-color photography. It’s a lot like the 007 collection from before Skyfall hit the home market. The Sopranos set also comes with a never-before-seen featurette with Chase.

You want more? The set will also include the two-part HBO documentary “Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos,” directed by Alex Gibney, which explores the making of the series and Chase’s creative process, as well as hours of previously released bonus content, including behind-the-scenes featurettes and audio commentaries with cast members and producers.

The Sopranos, 4K Ultra HD, box set

You’ve never seen The Sopranos like this before

While The Sopranos is already available on Blu-ray, the show has never looked this good. Word has it that the 4K Ultra HD remasters are gorgeous, and the packaging keeps collectors in mind, giving them something special to display on shelves. The award-winning series is considered by many to be one of the greatest crime dramas of all time, with modern classics taking inspiration from Chase’s series.

Would you believe that I’ve never seen The Sopranos? Okay, that’s not entirely true. I once dated a girl named Andromeda who went to school in Brooklyn. I’d stay at her place, and while she was attending classes, I would watch her Sopranos DVD box sets and eat pancakes, doing my best to avoid her roommate. I only made it partway into the first season, but I enjoyed what I saw. Who knows, maybe I’ll pre-order this box set and complete the loop.
