The trailer for About Cherry features pigtails, porno, Heather Graham, and James Franco

ABOUT CHERRY sounds like the title of a porn movie. Instead, it is an independent drama that takes place within the world of porn. Get the difference?

I gave this trailer a shot, not expecting much. Instead it seems to be somewhat interesting. This debut film from writer-director Stephen Elliott captures a young woman (CHRONICLE’s Ashley Hinshaw) as she signs away her life and becomes an adult film actress. Throw in James Franco as her coke-head love interest and you have yourself a party.

Plot: A drama centered on a troubled young woman who moves to San Francisco, where she gets involved in pornography and aligns herself with a cocaine-addicted lawyer.

Hinshaw looks solid in the lead and Franco once again looks like he is playing James Franco. The rest of the cast includes the still hot Heather Graham, Dev Patel, and Lilli Taylor.

ABOUT CHERRY opens in limited release on September 21, 2012.
