The UnPopular Opinion: John Carter

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Welcome back to The UnPopular Opinion! The UnPopular Opinion features different takes on films that either I hated, but that the majority of film fans loved or vice versa. We have always hoped this column will promote constructive and geek fueled discussion. Now, with us entering the visual world, you can get pissed off in a whole new medium!

This week, we take a look at Disney's JOHN CARTER. Widely looked at as one of the biggest disappointments of all time, Andrew Stanton's first live action film was a critical bomb as well as a box office disaster. But, even seven years later, JOHN CARTER is one of the most fun and enjoyable fantasy epics of all time. Check out the video above as I make the case as to why this movie is not only vital viewing but a film that gets better with age.

Oh, and if you have any suggestions for The UnPopular Opinion I’m always happy to hear them. You can send along an email to [email protected] or spell it out in the comments below. Provide me with as many movie suggestions as you like, with any reasoning you'd care to share, and if I agree then you may one day see it featured in this very column!
