As I’m sure you know, because we all partook, a whole lot of mothaf*ckers tuned in to “The Walking Dead” last night!

In fact, breaking its own record, the season 3 series premiere last night drew 10.9 million eyes upon initial telecast, and a cool 15 million overall throughout the night (figuring DVR, as I did after football). Another 14 million potential viewers could have figured if Dish Network carried the show.

To put it in historical context, Variety put it this way:

“The season-three premiere now reigns as the most-watched episode in series history as well as the biggest telecast for any drama series in basic cable history.”

No small feat there, so congrats to the peeps over at AMC. Not sure I’d squander that dough on really noticeable CGI blood and the like, but whatever. I liked Hershell’s tan and goatee.

Here’s what the network pres Charlie Collie had to say:

“Thank you to the fans for making ‘The Walking Dead’ such a tremendous success. We are honored and humbled that television’s largest adult audience resides on AMC. So many people on both sides of the camera worked tirelessly on this project, and I thank and congratulate each of them for their amazing contribution.”

Ernest Dickerson directed last night’s episode of “TWD.” If you didn’t see it, revisit that shite HERE.
