There may be an Alien: Isolation animated series in the works

Hot on the heels of HN Entertainment's report that there are two different live-action TV shows set in the world of the ALIEN franchise in the works, one apparently an anthology that will be produced by Ridley Scott, the folks over at Observer.com have heard that there is also an Alien animated series on the way.

According to Observer's sources, Axis Animation has been working on an R-rated, seven episode animated series based on the 2014 video game Alien: Isolation. That would certainly go along with 20th Century Fox's recent focus on Amanda Ripley, daughter of ALIEN through ALIEN: RESURRECTION heroine Ellen Ripley, since Amanda is the main character in that game.

Axis Animation also did the VFX work on the game, which had the following description:

Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley's daughter Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance. As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.

I've never played the game, so Amanda Ripley is a stranger to me. If this animated series does exist, it will be my introduction to the character.

Axis Animation did not respond to Observer's requests for comment, but the site hears that the animated series could be ready to be released online as soon as April.

We'll keep you updated if and when we hear anything more about this Alien: Isolation show.
