This first official still from Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring flaunts its stuff

Emma Watson is nigh-on unrecognizable to me in this particular picture from true story THE BLING RING, both in attitude and in physical look, and I like it that way.

Coppola’s film doesn’t yet have a release date, but but the heist-like nature of the story presents an intriguingly different sort of tale than that which she has told before and so I’ll definitely be there whenever it does come out.  I’ve also enjoyed (or at least appreciated) all of her past work, so that certainly helps.

On a fun side note, Emma Watson said that in order to prepare for her role in Coppola’s film she ”just watched a ton of reality TV… I was doing an English course [at Brown University]. So I would go from reading Virginia Woolf to [watching] Kim Kardashian. I kind of loved it, this mix of super-high and super-low culture. I think it was a nice balance.”
