This Is It director Kenny Ortega will helm the Dirty Dancing remake

JoBloJoBlo

It was bound to happen so don’t act surprised.

Kenny Ortega (THIS IS IT) has been hired to direct the remake of DIRTY DANCING. Ortega is rather close to the 1987 original since he choreographed all that sexual grinding and what not.

While I do prefer ROAD HOUSE over DIRTY DANCING, I know the ladies of the internet will probably be upset. It’s okay though. Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey will always be having the time of their life on DVD.

Apparently, this is pretty high on the priority list for Lionsgate so they will be moving on it quickly. For those of you who love 80’s remakes that involve dancing, Craig Brewer’s FOOTLOOSE will be out October 14th.

I think I’ll be upset if they ever decide to remake BREAKIN’.
