The cast of Marvel‘s Thunderbolts is ready to welcome Minari and Nope star Steven Yeun to the fold! According to Deadline, the Oscar-nominated actor is joining Thunderbolts for a critical role. While the details of Yeun’s character remain a mystery, he could appear in multiple future projects. If I had to guess who Yeun is playing, my money would be on Nova or Sentry. I’m stabbing in the dark, so don’t take my word on it. It’s just a gut feeling I have.

Disney announced the main cast of Thunderbolts at last year’s D23. The film will see David Harbour returning as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Harrison Ford will also appear as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, with the actor taking over the role played by the late William Hurt. The Ford’s first appearance as Ross will occur in Captain America: New World Order, which is set to be released several months before ThunderboltsThe Bear breakout Ayo Edebiriis is also joining the cast, though her role has yet to be revealed.

The Thunderbolts movie is set to be directed by Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank), with Eric Pearson (Black Widow) penning the script. Thunderbolts will hit theaters on July 26, 2024.

Jake Schreier began his directing career filming music videos for artists such as Kayne West, Chance the Rapper, Cashmere Cat, and more. He has also helmed ShamelessLodge 49KiddingDave, and Brand New Cherry Flavor episodes. Schreier also directed Robot and Frank and Paper Towns. Deadline says Schreier’s presentation for the Thunderbolts movie “blew away” the Marvel executives and ultimately got him the gig.

Marvel is not sharing any plot details for Thunderbolts yet. The cast is positively stacked with talent, and adding Yeun to the mix makes this project even sweeter. If Yeun’s character is poised to feature in multiple Marvel projects, he must be a significant player in the MCU. Who do you think Yeun in playing in Thunderbolts? Let’s see your predictions in the comments below!
