Ti West talks leaving The Haunting in Georgia

Just the other day, I wrote about THE HAUNTING IN GEORGIA gearing up for a summer production in Canada. Conspicuously absent in the notice was Ti West’s name, and apparently with good reason, as it now seems official that the director has left the project to focus on his own ghost story, THE INNKEEPERS.

In an interview with FEARnet, West talks about the current state of horror, as well as his continued unhappiness over the CABIN FEVER 2 situation. While on that subject, West brought up GEORGIA, which he has seemingly gotten out of just in the nick of time.

“So I was on the Haunting in Georgia movie for a while, and we got to the point where we were making different movies, and it was like I don’t want to risk us realizing that so late in the game. It’s also important for me to write and direct my own movies and edit them, so with this MPI-Glass Eye Pix thing, I can do that. The Innkeepers can be my own movie, and [to do that] as long as I can do that is important.”

THE INNKEEPERS is a haunted hotel tale, so it shall be interesting to see how West’s slow-paced style will play in that context. For the full FEARnet interview, head on over HERE.
