Tiffany Haddish, Ali Wong talk Tuca & Bertie series in first look trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Netflix has let a first look trailer for TUCA & BERTIE out of its cage, a finely-feathered and potentially very funny animated series starring Tiffany Haddish (NIGHT SCHOOL, GIRLS TRIP) and Ali Wong (BLACK BOX, FRESH OFF THE BOAT) as bird women BFFs. Created by BOJACK HORSEMAN supervising producer Lisa Hanawalt, TUCA & BERTIES revolves around the friendship of two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building. For the show, Haddish stars as Tuca, a crass, take no prisoners tucan, while Wong lends her vocals to Bertie, a worrisome, and some would say repressed songbird. Together, the pair are fly AF, and they're not afraid to ruffle a few feathers.

Joining Haddish and Wong for their hot takes as Tuca & Bertie are Steven Yeun (THE WALKING DEAD, OKJA), alongside guests Nicole Byer, Richard E. Grant, John Early, Reggie Watts, Tig Notaro, Amber Ruffin, Jermaine Fowler, Tessa Thompson, just to name a few.

If the animation and art style of TUCA & BERTIE looks familiar, that's because it comes courtesy of ShadowMachine, the same studio behind Netflix's BOJACK HORSEMAN and TBS' FINAL SPACE, among other animations.

Netflix has plans to let TUCA & BERTIE fly onto their streaming service on Friday, May 3rd.
