Toby Jones and Rafe Spall to helicopter over to Jurassic World 2

JURASSIC WORLD 2 (not its real title) is deep into pre-production, and it's about the time that casting announcements will begin pouring in in earnest. Two prominent British actors are currently in talks to join the film, and I don't know which I should be more intrigued by: Rafe Spall and Toby Jones.

I'm a huge fan of Spall (pictured above), who has appeared in flicks like PROMETHEUS, LIFE OF PI, SHAUN OF THE DEAD, and the surprisingly sharp romantic comedy I GIVE IT A YEAR. He's a versatile actor who will bring a unique charm to whatever role he plays. Although it's completely unclear whether he will be asked to rely on his comedic or dramatic chops in this role.

Jones (pictured below) has held roles in huge franchise tentpole pics for almost his entire career, appearing as the beloved house elf Dobby in the HARRY POTTER franchise, Claudius Templesmith in THE HUNGER GAMES, and Dr. Armin Zola in CAPTAIN AMERICA. This guy is box office gold.

Obviously, the roles they are being offered are completely under wraps, but a JURASSIC WORLD 2 with these two in it is a JURASSIC WORLD 2 I want to see.

The sequel will be moving into very different, darker register, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprising their roles from the original. The film is being directed by THE ORPHANAGE's J. A. Bayona from a script by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.

JURASSIC WORLD 2 is scheduled for a June 22, 2018 release.
