One of the most memorable elements of Colin Trevorrow's JURASSIC WORLD was the comic relief provided by Jake Johnson and Lauren Lapkus as workers in the control room. Unfortunately, JURASSIC WORLD 2 (not the real title) will not be continuing that particular vein, according to this tweet from Johnson about his character.
From what I hear Lowery will not be in JW2. https://t.co/M7xgPLiRWj

I think, if anyone would know about this, he would.
This certainly would fit the direction the sequel is moving toward, which is supposedly a very different, darker register. But that's not to say that we won't be seeing familiar faces. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be reprising their roles in the sequel, which is being directed by THE ORPHANAGE's J. A. Bayona from a script by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.
JURASSIC WORLD 2 is scheduled for a June 22, 2018 release.
