Tom Holland introduces Spider-Man: Homecoming VR Experience

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

This past week, a superiorly impressive trailer for game maker Insomniac's new Spider-Man game premiered at E3 2017. Today, Tom Holland introduced a trailer the SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING VR EXPERIENCE for Columbia Pictures. The VR experience itself was developed and created by CreateVR, who has done award-winning work for Sony in the past on films like THE WALK and GHOSTBUSTERS just to name a few.

You can check out the Sony-released video in the player below:

Obviously, the VR Experience aims to place players inside Spidey's new suit, and through the magic of VR technology, present the virtual hero with a series of challenges to overcome while web-swinging, web-balling, and doing whatever a spider can to complete each objective. From what I've seen in the video, the action looks to be a bit bare bones, with Spider-Man being made to fling barrels about and knock Vulture-drones out of the sky. With any luck, there will be lots more for Spidey fans to enjoy once the game the game is complete and ready to be unleashed for all major VR platforms on June 30th.

The SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING VR EXPERIENCE will arrive on the Playstation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR platforms.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will swing its way into theaters beginning on July 7, 2018.
