Toy Story 3 now the highest grossing animated movie of all time

JoBloJoBlo

It’s already many people’s favorite film of the year so far (mine as well, sorry INCEPTION), but now TOY STORY 3 is in the history books too.

According to a press release, the film has just made $920 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing animated movie of all time, $400M of that coming from the US box office alone.

What did it beat out? Here’s the old ranking order.

1. Shrek 2 – $919M

2. Finding Nemo – $867M

3. Shrek the Third – $798M

4. The Lion King – $783M

5. The Incredibles – $631M

Yeah, yeah, I’m sure if you adjust for inflation, LION KING and like SNOW WHITE beat it out, but whatever, I’m counting it, and I’m glad that some shitty SHREK sequel is no longer on top.

Couldn’t AVATAR technically be considered an animated movie with all that CGI? Jokes!
