Trailer arrives for Smothered, starring Hodder, Moseley, and more icons

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

Last July, we heard that SMOTHERED, the horror/comedy written and directed by John Schneider (yes, the star of the Dukes of Hazzard TV show) would be hitting VOD and DVD in February of 2016. Well, February has come and you might have noticed that there is no SMOTHERED. The release date was pushed back, but just slightly – SMOTHERED will be reaching select theatres on March 25, followed by the DVD/VOD release on March 29.

To build hype and help us get through that extra wait, a red band trailer has been released for the film, a trailer which makes the movie look like it's going to be quite entertaining, but unfortunately also seems to spoil the fates of several characters. You can watch it below, but beware!

The characters are played by several familiar faces from the horror genre, like Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley, R.A. Mihailoff, Don Shanks, Michael Berryman, Josh Kassir, and Brea Grant.

The story:

When a bunch of horror icons are at a crappy horror convention, they get offered a bunch of money to scare a bunch of fans at the local park. Easy money for a weekend gig, right? Wrong. When they get there, they meet the woman who runs it, as well as her incredibly well-endowed daughter, Dee Dee, but little do they know that they are not just the stars of the weekend, but the intended victims!

Whether or not the trailer has shown me some of the deaths, I will definitely be checking out SMOTHERED at the first opportunity.
