Trailer drops for sci-fi thriller Archive starring Theo James and Toby Jones

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

What would you do to bring back someone you loved? Especially if you actually had the technology, knowledge, and means to do so? That's the key question at the center of the upcoming sci-fi thriller ARCHIVE (which was also an official selection at the 2020 SXSW Film Festival). Here's the synopsis:

2038: George Almore is working on a true human-equivalent AI. His latest prototype is almost ready. This sensitive phase is also the riskiest. Especially as he has a goal that must be hidden at all costs: being reunited with his dead wife.

Actually looks intriguing – especially the make-up/SFX – with some definite EX MACHINA and DEVS vibes. I'll probably check it out for sure, as I love films that can use sci-fi tech as a way to explore human nature and fallibility.

Meanwhile, ARCHIVE – written/directed by Gavin Rothery and starring Theo James, Stacy Martin, Rhona Mitra, and Toby Jones – will be hitting virtual cinemas, On Demand, and digital July 10th.

So what do you guys think? And would you bring a loved one back via robotics if you could? Either way, sound off below!
