Trailer: Taylor Schilling deals with a creepy kid in The Prodigy

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The Prodigy Jackson Robert Scott Nicholas McCarthy

Child actor Jackson Robert Scott already had a bad run-in with the supernatural when he crossed paths with Pennywise in IT, and now he'll be facing a different sort of supernatural issue in the upcoming film THE PRODIGY (formerly known as DESCENDANT). In this one, Scott plays a kid who might be possessed.

Taylor Schilling co-stars with Scott, playing a

young mother who, concerned about her 8-year-old son's disturbing behavior, thinks something supernatural may be affecting him.

Also in the cast are Brittany Allen, Peter Mooney, and Colm Feore.

Directed by THE PACT's Nicholas McCarthy from a screenplay by Jeff Buhler (THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN), THE PRODIGY was produced by Tripp Vinson, with Buhler, Nick Spicer, Lisa Zambri, and Daniel Bekerman executive producing.

Orion Pictures will be releasing THE PRODIGY on February 8, 2019

About three and a half months out from the release date, a trailer has been released online to give us a glimpse of Scott being creepy and Schilling getting scared. There's a big jump moment in this trailer that is effective, but it's almost exactly the same as the big jump moment in the ANNABELLE trailer.

Check out the trailer below and see how THE PRODIGY looks to you:
