The film that currently stands as the second highest grossing domestic film of 2011 TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON is hitting Blu-Ray and DVD September 30th.

It feels like it was just a few weeks ago the film was released theatrically, boy how times flies right? The film will be released in a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital download combo pack, as well as a stand alone DVD. The 3D version will hit at a later date, and contain more bonus features.

Michael Bay made the following statement regarding the Blu-ray via press release: “For fans who can’t wait, the Blu-ray release in September will deliver an awesome ride with the movie in stunning 1080p high definition and a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack that was personally overseen by our phenomenal supervising sound mixer just for the Blu-ray.

As you know, we put a lot of effort into the 3D experience for the theatrical release and I want to make sure we get it right for home viewing—and that process takes time. So stay tuned for an even more incredible release that will include the film on Blu-ray 3D and loads of bonus features.”

Sounds pretty sweet right? You can bet this will likely be the best looking Blu-ray for the year!

TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (below), Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Malkovich, John Turturro, Patrick Dempsey and Frances McDormand.
