They’re arguably the two biggest science-fiction franchises in the world: STAR TREK and STAR WARS. And if you’re one of the many who watched STAR TREK this past weekend you may have noticed some similarities to that other STAR franchise. The young hero, the old mentor, the warp speed, bar fights, exploding planets… While I wouldn’t say that JJ Abrams’ STAR TREK is ripping off STAR WARS, it’s just interesting to see how much modern sci-fi is inspired by STAR WARS.
