Tremors: Kevin Bacon still down to return to horror franchise

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In a recent, exclusive interview with Esquire, star Kevin Bacon stated – among other things – that he'd love to return to the cult creature feature horror franchise Tremors, of all things! While there've been seven(!) films so far in the series (as well as a TV show back in 2003), Bacon only starred in the 1990 original, as well as an unaired pilot that was filmed as an attempted reboot TV series for SYFY back in 2017.

Here's what the actor had to say:

[Tremors] was one film of mine that I wanted to revisit that character. I don’t look back at all. In fact, Tremors is the only movie of mine that I have rewatched since it’s come out…

We were around the 25 year anniversary. I went to Blumhouse, and they were totally into the idea. Universal didn’t want to remake it as a feature and also maybe because it didn’t work as a feature the first time. So we put it aside. Then they came back to me and said, ‘What would you think about doing it as a series?’…

I would still love to do it, believe me. Maybe it needs to be the 30th anniversary or the 35th. We’ll keep going.

So what do you guys think? Fans of the Tremors franchise? If so, would you like to see Bacon return? Either way, sound off below!
