There seem to be a whole lot of supernatural/sci-fi TV shows in the works now that “pilot season” is in full swing. One such show is “17th Precinct”, which is being developed by Ronald D. Moore, who of course oversaw Syfy’s “Battlestar Gallactica” as well as the first drafts of THE THING prequel. His new show has just abducted a face that’ll be familiar to those “Battlestar” fans out there: Tricia Helfer.
Helfer, who played a sexy Cylon in BSG, joins James Callis and Jamie Bamber, also alums from that popular sci-fi series. In “17th Precinct”, which revolves around the fictional town of Excelsior, where magic and supernatural elements rule over science , Helfer will play Morgana, a necromancer, the magical equivalent of a coroner, who is an expert at manipulating the potions, tools, herbs and spells of her trade.
Sounds sexy! Sony Television is making the “17th Precinct” pilot, which also features Stockard Channing and Eamonn Walker, for NBC. We’ll keep you in the loop when we find out more about this intriguing project.
