Trippy techno thriller Black Heaven gets a trailer and stills

Here’s a trailer for a trippy flick called BLACK HEAVEN, which – not unlike IN THEIR SLEEP – comes from France and is being distributed here in the States by IFC. It almost looks like a demented version of TRON: LEGACY, with its surreal, neon-tinged alternate world. It probably wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine this is the more imaginative movie, but I suppose the jury’s still out until both are seen.

A breakout selection of the midnight section of Cannes in 2010, BLACK HEAVEN is directed by an exciting new French filmmaker called Gilles Marchand. The story (featuring a terrifically sexy young cast) follows an innocent young kid, Gaspar (Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet of LOVE SONGS), who, becoming enamored with a mysterious/gorgeous girl (Louise Bourgoin, THE GIRL FROM MONACO), is lured into “Black Hole” – a dark, obscure video game world of avatars with deadly serious intentions in the real world.

BLACK HEAVEN is now playing at the IFC Center in New York, and will open Friday at the Sunset 5 in Los Angeles. Additional late night engagements will follow nationally. It’s now playing nationwide on demand from IFC Midnight, available via Comcast, Cox, Cablevision, Time Warner, and Bright House.
