Although Joe Kosinski’s TRON LEGACY isn’t getting a ton of run around these parts, it looks like his next project very well may!
Word from THR’s Heat Vision states that Kosinski is in talks to helm a new sci-fi action spec-script for Scott Free Productions, which is headed by Tony and Ridley Scott, respectively. The project is called ARCHANGELS, and comes from first time scribe Andrew Will. Sound good so far?
Set in the near future and described as a “Bourne” style thriller crossed with alien elements, the protagonist in ARCHANGELS is part of an elite force that is tasked with tracking aliens who get past Earth’s defense system.
Sounds pretty legit, ay? I just hope they go hard-R with it, DISTRICT 9 style…rather than the in development I AM NUMBER FOUR, which has a similar plot but is clearly meant for the PG-13 crowd. Guess we’ll see.
Kosinski’s TRON LEGACY opens in December. He also has OBLIVION and a remake of THE BLACK HOLE attached to his name…so we’ll also have to see which project gathers most steam toward production.
Stay up!
