Jonathan Tucker (no relation to the John Tucker who must die, the Tucker who was a man with a dream, Tucker Carlson or Toby N. Tucker) has signed on to star in the Ben Stiller produced thriller THE RUINS for DreamWorks. Tucker is the unfortunate actor cast in the abyssmal NBC drama “The Black Donnellys.” Presumably he will be much better in a role that doesn’t have him spouting Paul Haggis’ sanctimonious drivel. Tucker will star as a college student who travels to Mexico on his vacation and stumbles upon an archaeological dig where something evil is lurking (and it’s not just Montezuma’s Revenge). The film is based on the novel of the same name by Scott Smith, who also wrote the screenplay. Filming will begin this May where Australia will stand in for Mexico.
