Twihards rejoice! Breaking Dawn is officially split in two! Yay!

And that’s about as bubbly as I get!

Word out of Summit Entertainment this evening has confirmed what we’ve been led to believe in the last few months; Bill Condon’s BREAKING DAWN will split into two separate features. Just f*ckin’ swell!

BREAKING DAWN part one will adhere to its originally slated November 18, 2011 release date. No date from Summit has been set for the second part.

Color me slow, but of course Summit’s dividing this bastard into two. Not only has the entire TWILIGHT franchise grossed over a billion dollars worldwide (currently at $1.1 billion), BREAKING DAWN is the purported “final” installment (until that Bree Tanner gets her spinoff franchise, watch…), so they’re gonna try to bleed every last drop of our blood and sweat covered duckets. Then there’s the recent hefty payday of Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed, two ancillary characters at best (still love you Ashley!). If those ladies are making $4 million a picture, imagine what KStew, RPattz & TLaut are netting. Summit’s got checks to write, yo!

Currently being adapted by Melissa Rosenberg (once again), THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN goes like this:

Bella and Edward are married, but their honeymoon is cut short when Bella discovers that she is pregnant. Her pregnancy progresses rapidly, severely weakening her. She nearly dies giving birth to her and Edward’s half-vampire-half-human daughter, Renesmee, but Edward injects Bella with his venom to save her life and turns her into a vampire. A vampire from another coven sees Renesmee and mistakes her for an “immortal child”. She informs the Volturi, as the existence of such beings violates vampire law. The Cullens gather vampire witnesses who can verify that Renesmee is not an immortal child. After an intense confrontation, the Cullens and their witnesses convince the Volturi that the child poses no danger to vampires or their secret, and they are left in peace by the Volturi.

Thoughts? Either on the plot or decision to cleave BREAKING DAWN into two pictures?
