Casting for THE THING is in full swing; just yesterday I gave you the names of some of the Norwegians that will populate the film, and now today we’ve got news coming out of the Bloody Disgusting camp that Eric Christian Olsen has joined the cast.

You might be familiar with Olsen from his goofy turns in movies like DUMB AND DUMBERER, BEERFEST and the modern day classic FIRED UP. He’ll soon be seen opposite Jennifer Lopez’s read-end in the awful-looking BACK-UP PLAN. Hopefully the comic relief will be kept to a minimum in THE THING, although I can’t see hiring Olsen for any other purpose. They don’t dare cast him as a scientist, do they?

Also, according to the IMDB, French-Canadian actress Kim Bubbs has signed on to the flick as well (playing “Juliette”). IMDB’s track record is always spotty of course (Dominique Swain made me quite aware of that), so keep this in the “maybe” file…
