What in the ham sandwich? It would appear as if the Boy Who Lived, Daniel Radcliffe, is joining the cast of Netflix's UNBREAKBLE KIMMY SCHMIDT INTERACTIVE SPECIAL.
That's right, all of you Potterheads, Radcliffe is set to join Ellie Kemper as Kimmy Schmidt, who in Netflix's new interactive event sets off on her biggest adventure yet. Three states! Explosions! A dancing hamburger! And you, the viewer, get to decide how the story goes. Will you foil the Reverend’s (Jon Hamm) evil plan and get Kimmy to her wedding on time? Or will you accidentally start a war against the robots? So grab your remote and a tray of delicious scrod, ‘cause Kimmy’s got her own Netflix interactive special!
Created and executive produced by Tina Fey (WINE COUNTRY, 30 ROCK) and Robert Carlock (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, FRIENDS), UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT has earned 18 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series for each of its seasons. The hilarious comedy series made its Netflix debut on March 6, 2015, which shared the misadventures of Kimmy, a plucky optimist who for 15 years was kept away from the rest of the world while living inside a bunker. After being rescued, Kimmy decides to reclaim her life by venturing to New York, where she experiences everyday life with wide-eyed enthusiasm. On a whim, she rents a room from Titus, a gay wannabe Broadway actor, who makes ends meet as a street performer in Times Square. The unlikely pair find they're well-suited to help each other out, with Titus reintroducing Kimmy to modern life, and her providing him with the inspiration that you should never give up. Together they'll make it through whatever life throws at them. Oh, and you can bet that life will be throwing plenty, including the kitchen sink. Throughout the course of four successful seasons, Kimmy transforms herself and those around her into beacons of hope, even if they're still a little rough around the edges at the end of the day.
Serving as executive producers and showrunners for Netflix's UNBREAKBLE KIMMY SCHMIDT INTERACTIVE SPECIAL are Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, with Jeff Richmond, Sam Means, Meredith Scardino, David Miner also set to executive produce. Series originals Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Carol Kane will all take part in the event, with Radcliffe now along for the wild ride.
Netflix has yet to reveal a date for the special, though we do know that it will hit the streaming network sometime in 2020.
