Unconfirmed: Has Universal posted the first minute of Tremors 7 online?

Yesterday we shared an interview in which TREMORS franchise star Michael Gross said he believes post-production is still moving forward on TREMORS 7: ISLAND FURY during the COVID-19 lockdown, allowing the film to stay on track for a release in October, just in time for Halloween.

Fans who follow Gross's Facebook page know that reassuring quotes aren't the only things Gross has shared about TREMORS 7 recently. A few days ago, Gross posted a YouTube link and said, 

Tremors and Burt Gummer fans, I just found this bit of craziness in my inbox from what I presume is Universal Studios Hollywood. What gives?!?

While the YouTube video is made to look like TREMORS 7: ISLAND FURY has leaked online in full, most of its 102 minutes shows Gross's character Burt Gummer taking a wild trip with a Shrieker. It's a way to troll anyone who clicks on the video hoping to watch ISLAND FURY before its official release, and would have been perfect for an April Fools Day prank. It just showed up a bit later than April Fools Day. I'm not going to sit through all 102 minutes, but it's fun to look at for a few seconds.

But what about that first 100 seconds, before Burt and the Shrieker show up? That looks like it actually could be the opening of TREMORS 7: ISLAND FURY. This is UNCONFIRMED, maybe those seconds are from some other movie, but what's shown in those 100 seconds matches up with what we know about the film. The setting is an island, and a man appears to be getting chased through the jungle by some kind of creature… It looks like a real preview of the film was included in this piece of troll bait. Directed by Don Michael Paul from a script by Brian Brightly, this sequel finds that 

the deadly Graboids are back, illegally brought in to a new island resort by a rich playboy looking for a trophy hunt.

Although the synopsis only mentions Graboids, Ass-Blasters and Shriekers are believed to be in the film as well. 

Gross is joined in the cast by Richard Brake, Jon Heder, Jackie Cruz, Cassie Clare, Caroline Langrishe, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Matthew Douglas, Randy Kalsi, Bear Williams, David Asavanond, Boonma Lamphon, Aukrawut Rojaunawat, Iris Park, Mikey Black, Alex Winters, and Ron Smoorenburg.

While we wait for TREMORS 7: ISLAND FURY, all six previous TREMORS movies can be purchased in this collection. Completists will also want to pick up the episodes of the TV series.
