Universal and director Malcolm Lee are in talks for a sequel to The Best Man Holiday

Looks like Universal isn't going to wait another fourteen years for a sequel: Deadline is reporting a follow-up to THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY is in the works. The studio is currently negotiating with Malcolm Lee to write, direct and produce the sequel, and Sean Daniels will also be returning as a producer. However, there's no word on who from the cast will be back for the next film, although I'm sure all of them are going to be looking for a pay increase if they return. Don't worry Terrence Howard: I'm sure no one will be going after your money for this sequel.

THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY did outstanding numbers this past weekend at the box office, but it has also received decent reviews from critics (65% at Rottentomatoes.com), and movie goers have given the film an 'A+' CinemaScore. I'm sure most of you don't give a shit about these films, however there are plenty of people who love the original, and they also really enjoyed the sequel. There really doesn't need to be a third THE BEST MAN film (what's it going to be called? THE BEST MAN FUNERAL?), but fans of the first two films are probably very happy with this news.
