Just yesterday we informed you that Universal may be teaming up with Legendary Pictures on DRACULA, the Luke Evans-led origin story of the legendary bloodsucker. It looks as if this partnership is coming together, but as a result the studio has had to push back Dracula a few months.

DRACULA will now come out on October 3, 2014; it was originally set for an August 8 debut. Not such a bad slot, and a good way to kick off the Halloween season.

In addition to Evans, the film stars Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, Sarah Gadon, Charlie Cox, Thor Kristjansson and Art Parkinson.

DRACULA tells of a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them, and in the process becomes the first vampire.
