Any fans of the CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” ’round here? Yeah, didn’t think so…

In any event, it seems the show’s scribe, co-creator and exec-producer Kevin Williamson (of SCREAM fame) is currently putting together a supernatural companion piece to the popular bloodsucking series. Or wait, is should that simply read “sucking series”? Where’s Ammon when you need him?!?

Word from Deadline has it that the untitled new project is in development at Warner Bros., with a “The X-Files” meets “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” selling point. The plot revolves around a band of young adults who investigate paranormal occurrences. Word is Julie Plec (also in the “Vampire Diaries” camp) will come aboard to co-write with Williamson.

Alright, so what do we think about this one? We already know Buffy is making a big screen comeback, and that another X-FILES movie is never totally out of the question…but what of a small screen hybrid? With young adults no less? Could that be something ever worth watching?
