Disney princesses assemble in new Wreck-It Ralph 2 trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The second trailer for RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2 has arrived, which, beyond featuring Storm Troopers from the Star Wars franchise, gives us an extended look at Vanellope's encounter with Disney's pantheon of princesses. The trailer kicks into high-gear right from the start, as the song "Harder Better Faster Stronger" by the electro pop duo Daft Punk permeates a digital world filled with wonder, information, and infinite possibilities. Additionally, the new footage also gives us our first look at Taraji P. Henson's Yesss in action. From what I can gather, she's knowledgeable, sassy, and more than willing to help Ralph and Vanellope on what is sure to be an epic journey.

The events of RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2 take place six years after the events of the original film, with Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discovering a wi-fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure.

Directing the film are Phil Johnston and Rich Moore, who also wrote the film alongside Jim Reardon and Pamela Ribon. Reprising their roles as Ralph and Vanellope are John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman, respectively. Also on-board for Disney's latest bit of animated mayhem are Jack McBrayer, Ed O'Neill, Jane Lynch, Ana Ortiz, Della Saba, Taraji P. Henson, and many more!

Obviously, a big feature of the newest trailer is Vanellope's run-in with several of Disney's classic and modern day princesses. Personally, I love the part when Cinderella smashes her glass slipper into a stylish shiv, though what really gets me rolling is the manner with which each of the ladies question Vanellope about the legitimacy of her princess background. Those Disney tropes certainly do stand out against today's efforts to flip the narrative, don't they? Perhaps DIsney's next animated outing should be a princess crossover action flick! I'd pay good money to see that in a heartbeat. "Happily ever after, mother #&@%*#!"
